How does off-plan payment work in Dubai?

You pay the developer in stages, not all at once. Plans differ: some follow construction, some are 60/40 or 70/30, and some continue after handover. We send the current schedule, not an old launch brochure.

What does the escrow account do for me?

Accepted Answer

In Dubai, off-plan payments go into a project escrow account at a RERA-approved bank, under Law No. 8 of 2007. The developer does not hold that money in their own account. They can draw it only as construction on this project is certified. If the build stops, the balance stays in the account for the buyers of this project. It does not promise the handover date in the brochure. It does stop your payment being spent on a different project. Where the developer has published an account number, we print it on the listing.
